mother of all mothers
In the opening pages of "scriptures" of the Old Testament, we encounter the first mother of mankind: Eva, her name means the life-giving. One could also say she is the mother of all mothers. From their mothers can - but not only them - to learn a lot. Already in the first creation story in the Bible it occurs: ". God created man in His own image, He created man and woman," women were not so from the start off second choice (!). On the contrary, the human equivalent according to the Bible then mostly to the image of his Creator, when husband and wife are together and form one unit. Only then can a woman be a mother. In the second account of creation will then go we learn some more details about Eva: It fits very well with the other person (Adam): "Finally someone like me"! It belongs to me ("flesh of my flesh")! It is a help (literally rescue!), Which corresponds to her husband. It is for the man the reason everything and leave and live with her (1 Moses 2:24). The term "aid" for Eva by the way used elsewhere in the Bible for God himself (!). Husbands and children can understand determines that the Bible is the act of a mother with that of God himself compares. Of course, as well as the other side. Eva is it then that the life forfeited in paradise with her husband: she wants to be like God and their own lives in your hand. Their distrust of God has finally the result that their life is difficult as a parent, be it in terms of pregnancy or the relationship with the husband (1 Moses 3:16). From now on, mankind lives in the harsh reality of an uncertain world. Eva grieves with her husband and the lost paradise, and must therefore be ready to live in a world of shame, pain and scolding. Good thing the EVA-ngelium is also descended from the mother of all mothers!
